24” Dirt Jump frames have been the choice of many dedicated trail riders for decades, however, the mountain bike industry decided they no longer wanted to support this size and the 24” nearly became extinct. At Root our primary function is to give trail riders the products they need.

We’ve used plenty of knowledge gained from the ‘no nonsense’ BMX approach to frame building. We thought it should be possible to build a frame without the crimped chain stays and kinked seat/chain stays that every MTB company seems to insist on using. It turns out it was! As a result our frames are stronger and stiffer in the back end.

We listened to rider feedback and it seemed as if everyone wanted a straight 24” with no compromise for 26”. So far as we’re concerned the 20” BMX frame and the 24” Dirt Jump frame are the foremost vehicles for trail riding (although 26” definitely have their place), so there’ll be no grumbling from us.

We managed to get Jonny and Elliott’s sample Four frames pretty close to perfect. Those of you with an eye for detail will have noticed both frames have made it through 2023 without budging an inch.

We’ve shortened the drop outs, made the disc mounts infinitely more tidy, shortened the chainstays, and lowered the standover a little. The front end remains exactly the same. As do all the other features.

For those of you who haven’t paid much attention until now our frame has a Mid BB, is primed for a 27.2mm seat post, and is spaced for sprockets up to 33t. We recommend 100mm suspension forks (both Jon and El run Rockshox Pike DJ forks).

SPECS:
Sanko seemless chromoly construction
Tapered chain and seat stays
Double Butted Top and Downtubes
125mm Heat-treated Headtube
74mm tapered Mid bb
Clearance for 33t sprockets and 2.3” tyres
Integrated seat clamp
Heat-treated 6mm drop outs with integrated chain tensioners
Toptube length: 22.70”
Chainstay length: 14.8 - 15.8”

Please note that the 'Matt Raw' Four has a bare metal finish. Bare metal frames can be prone to rusting under the lacquer. Likewise the heat-treated BB, drop outs, and HT are clearly darker. If either of these aesthetics are not to your liking please order the 'Matt Red' Four.

EU orders have a modest shipping cost applied. Please note that import duties may be applied and those will need to be paid by the purchaser.

We're working to bring down the cost of US and Australia shipping. There are no duties to paid on imports under $800 to the US.

We plan to put the 20” frame into production in the future but the 20” need is less. There’s already plenty of choice!
